OJ Scales Websites for small UK wedding and event videographers
Who this is

You got an email signed “OJ”, and you are checking whether it is real.

Good. That is the correct thing to do before sending anyone £199. This page exists so you can check, rather than take my word for it.

OJ Scales is a one-person operation. I am OJ. I build websites for small UK wedding and event videographers — the kind run by one or two people who shoot the weddings, edit the films, and answer the emails themselves. There is no agency behind this, no team, no account manager. When you reply to that email, I am the person who reads it.

Everything on this page is checkable or it is not here. There are no testimonials, no client logos, and no case studies further down, because I do not yet have any I am allowed to show you or honest enough to print. What is here instead is the mechanism, the real numbers, and the parts I would rather you did not find out later.

The mechanism

The site was built before I contacted you

That is the whole model, and it is the part people find strange, so here it is in order.

  1. I find you

Usually by looking for a small UK videographer whose films are good and whose website is visibly behind them — an old template, a page that still sells the wedding film on DVD, a site that takes too long to open on a phone. Everything I use to find you is already public.

  2. I build the whole site first

From your own public footage and your own published details. The film that scrolls through it is your work, not stock — frames pulled from a film already public on your own channel. The footer of every preview says exactly that, names you, links to the original, and states plainly that it is not an official page of yours and is not affiliated with or endorsed by you. Where I genuinely cannot reach your footage — one of the six, whose own embedded films were returning errors on their own live site — the page runs placeholder footage instead, and the email says so in its first few lines, before you click anything.

  3. Then I email you, once

One link to the finished site. No discovery call, no proposal, no pitch deck. The work is already done when the email lands, which is why there is nothing to discuss before you look.

  4. The ask is binary

£199 once to keep it, or do nothing and it comes down. There is no negotiation ladder, no cheaper tier, no monthly fee, and no upsell afterwards. Ignoring the email is a complete and perfectly good answer.

  5. It stays private until you decide

Every preview is unlisted and set to no-index, so it does not appear in search and nobody finds it by accident. It is not posted in any group, not shown to other videographers, and not used as a case study — not before you agree, and not after you say no.

  6. There is a real date on the takedown

Written in plain text on your offer page, with no countdown clock on it, because there is nothing to count down to except a date I have to honour. Of the six sites built on 18–19 September 2026, four carry Friday 2 October 2026 and the two built last carry Saturday 3 October 2026. Whichever date is printed on your offer page is the real one. On it, the site is deleted, not hidden. If you want longer, ask and you can have longer.

The honest part

Nobody has paid me yet

As of 19 September 2026, six of these sites are built. Five of the six emails reached the person the site was built for. The sixth was refused outright by the recipient's mail provider as suspected spam and never arrived — this domain is new and has no sending history, which is precisely what that filter exists to catch. Of the five that did land, not one has paid, not one has said no, and there have been no replies at all yet.

So if you are weighing this up: you would be the first. You should know that before you decide, not after. It is the reason there is not a single quote or star rating anywhere on this page — I have nothing true to put there, and inventing one would be the exact thing that should stop you paying a stranger £199.

What I can show you is the work, and the measurements, because those are real and you can repeat them yourself.

The work so far

Six sites, built and sent, 18–19 September 2026

These are the six. They are listed by county and nothing else, on purpose — every one of them is still an unanswered private offer, and naming someone as a case study before they have agreed to anything is precisely the promise above being broken. The same protection applies to you.

Google Lighthouse mobile performance scores, out of 100. Each figure is the median of three real runs against the live URL, old site and rebuild measured the same way on the same machine. Lighthouse is free and runs inside Chrome — if you have a preview from me, run it on both URLs yourself rather than trusting my number.

Two of those margins are thin, and they are in the table rather than left out: a ten-point gain on a site that already scored 88 is not much of an argument, and the email to that person said so in writing. The other four range from twenty-three points to fifty-four.

Speed here is not a vanity score. Measured on a simulated slow 4G connection (1.6 Mbps, 150 ms latency — a phone with two bars at a venue), the rebuilds clear their loading screen in 2.1 to 2.9 seconds. An earlier version of the same build held that phone on a loading screen for over 21 seconds — it was measured, found and fixed on 19 September, before any of these six emails went out. The version sitting at your link is the fixed one.

The offer

What the £199 actually covers

One payment. Not a deposit, not a first month, not a plan.

Live within 24 hours of your films reaching me. I never need your website password — the domain step is two DNS records at your registrar, which you can add yourself in five minutes.

And the things that are not in it, so there is no surprise: no ongoing maintenance contract, no SEO retainer, no hosting subscription billed to you later, and no second product. There is exactly one price on this offer and you have seen it.
